Leaving a legacy to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research

We appreciate that family and loved ones always come first when it comes to considering your will. After ensuring that this is the case, we hope that you will consider leaving a gift to Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research in your Will.

We are the only UK charity solely dedicated to research into blood cancers including leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma and we have been funding world-class blood cancer research for over 50 years.

Whilst we know that research takes time, we are determined to beat blood cancers however long it takes, and we need your help to get there.

Why we need you

Every 20 minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a blood cancer. These cancers are the most common cause of cancer death in the under 35s, but can affect anyone at any age.

We don’t receive any government funding, and gifts in wills currently make up more than a third of our income each year. We simply wouldn’t be able to carry out much of our life-saving research without the generosity of people who include us in their wills.

Our success

When our charity began in 1960, childhood leukaemia was a virtual death sentence, now nine out of ten children with the most common form of this blood cancer survive.

We need your support to continue our life-saving research into better diagnosis, treatments and cures for blood cancers affecting patients of all ages.

Where the money goes

We understand that you may well want to know a bit more about how any money you leave might be spent, which is why we would be very happy to invite you to visit an example of our work. We have research Centres of Excellence around the UK, so please get in touch with us if you’d like to find your nearest location for a visit.

Legacies to charities are currently exempt from Inheritance Tax, and with 80p in every £1 donated going directly to our vital research, you can be sure that your donation will be used wisely. See our nitty gritty page for more details.
