Sir Ian Botham is known around the world as one of the best cricketers of all time with his ‘Botham’s Ashes’ in 1981 still talked about.

But it is his famous charity walks that have helped secure his place in the nation’s heart and seen him honoured with a knighthood.

After injuring his foot in 1977, Beefy came across a group of children in the hospital who were all undergoing treatment for leukaemia.

He was so moved to hear none were expected to survive, he decided to do all he could to fundraise for research to find better treatments and cures for children with leukaemia. He has been walking ever since....

Sir Ian is determined to beat childhood blood cancers in his lifetime and so along with his walks, he now also hosts several celebrity golf days and dinners each year to raise even more money for our research.
