    Beefy will be walking from Manchester city centre to the beautiful Tatton Park where you, the public, can join him and his celebrity friends to walk the final few miles and support him all the way to the finish line.

    Entry fees (£15 for adults, £5 for under 12s) for Beefy's Great British Walk cover your entry, a walk t-shirt, support and medal. We would love you to fundraise further £150 that could buy essential laboratory materials for our vital research.

    Tatton Park is one of the most complete historic estates open to visitors. The early 19th-century Wyatt house sits amid a beautiful landscaped 400 hectare deer park.

    Join us at from 11am where we will have a family festival with tents and refreshments, ready to welcome and join Beefy on his walk at 1pm.

    The Barmy Army will be setting up a cricket pitch if you wish to join in for a bat!

    The terrain is suitable for push chairs and wheel chairs so everybody can support and enjoy the day.

It's even possible now to link these sites directly to your online giving page, making it even simpler for people to donate. Another way to inspire people, and raise awareness, is to blog about how your preparation is going. If people see the amount of time you're committing, and why you're doing your event, then they'll be more likely to dig deep!

    Email your family and friends

    Target your most generous supporters first. People tend to match the amounts already listed on the page.

    Be persistent

    Try re-sending the link to your page one week before the event to get some last minute sponsors. Then send it one more time once you've done the event - it's never too late!
