The Night of 1000 Voices

  • About

Since 1999, The Night of 1000 Voices has delighted capacity audiences at the Royal Albert Hall. The Night of 1000 Voices returned to the Royal Albert Hall this year with Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research as the beneficiary.

During Spring Bank Holiday 2012 there were two performances at the Royal Albert Hall. The West End's distinguished maestros, Stuart Morley and David Firman, once again supervised the massed musical forces with director Hugh Wooldridge. This year, The Night of 1000 Voices celebrated the 'Best of British' including  some of the most requested favourites  from Evita, The Lion King, Jesus Christ Superstar, Les Misérables and We Will Rock You.

Both performances included the huge 1000 Voices Choir, Stephen Disley played the magnificent Royal Albert Hall organ and The City of London Philharmonic accompanied some very special stars in a musical night to remember. Introduced by Hugh Bonneville, performers included Kerry Ellis, Peter Polycarpou, Bonnie Langford and perennial favourite David Michael Johnson.

Stars from London's West End included Ricardo Afonso, Daniel Boys, Clive Rowe, Caroline Sheen and Sally Ann Triplett. From Europe we welcomed Germany's leading man, Yngve Gasoy Romdal.

The night raised vital funds for the charity and we want to thank all those involved who helped to make the night such a great success.
